Hi, I'm Jeremy.
Thanks for being here. I'm a father, husband, product executive, and founder. A little about me:
- I grew up in Sacramento, CA and now live in the Portland, OR area.
- Initially dropped out of school to work in real estate to help support my mom and dad.
- Eventually went to UC Berkeley and spent most of my career in Product.
- Product leader at pre-IPO GitLab, Head of Product at Remote.com.
- Bootstrapped and scaled an eCommerce company to $X in ARR.
- I like taking photos and cooking things for other people. Cooking is an expression of love that I cherish improving at.
- I SCUBA dive - the underwater world is largely unexplored, mysterious, and magical.
- I love trying to be the best husband and father I can be.
My personal values
- We improve the world by shaping it from a place of "what if it works" vs. "what if it doesn't".
- Don't ignore risks, but minimize them and push forward.
- The best version of the world only exists if we believe in it and create it!
- You can be kind, empathetic, and care about others and also operate and scale a great business.
- Building great things you want others to find useful inherently requires a deep interest in those people.
- We spend too much time at work to tolerate jerks.
- Move with extreme speed - we quickly learn where to point a firehose.
- The cavalry is not coming; we're on our own!
- Everyone sweeps the floor.
- Small, highly autonomous teams are best.
- It's my privilege and moral imperative to help others succeed.
- I'm a servant leader and actively work to support the effectiveness and happiness of others.
- I derive my greatest joys from seeing others around me win.
- Transparency is essential for making good decisions: share work early/often and don't communicate in silos.
- Always be open to the possibility that we're wrong.
- Great products come from asking great questions.
